Untitled #3 (2012)
The third major piece in the collection by Atelier Jungblut comprises both a reflection and a further development of several aspects raised by the designer in Untitled #1 (2010-2011) and Untitled #2 (2011). It can be seen as a both a critical step back and a steadfast step forward; one eye on the past and one on the future.
In the new model, the perfect circular cross-section of the piece has been substituted by an oval form, thus introducing the idea of a search for a new balance instead of an already completed journey. With this, the designer further underlines his perspective on the social context in which he works and the culture of waist on which his pieces intend to reflect and to which they formulate a possible alternative.
In Untitled #3, the organic structures that form the base of the table permeate not only the basis, but also the top of the piece, indicating the start of a shift in the designers working method towards a model in which message might successfully overtake functionality and where the line between object and furniture piece blurs.
